I learned this evening that a little girl in our neighbourhood will be a part of this current Smile Week - has facial and hand burns that require surgery, so thank you to all those who have already donated funds to this cause (about R14 000 pledged so far) and made this op possible. Petunia is her pretty name! She has said she is nervous of the recovery phase, well I can tell you that Karen and I have had the odd flutter this week, sweaty palms from nervousness or excitement, we're not sure!
The training has been done, kit all sorted and now the final countdown begins. We've had some grand send-offs - a great article in the local paper, a healthy breakfast party after Saturday's training run and the Doras are almost ready to find their way to the start line in Oberstdorf, appropriately kitted out of course, some artistic dames in our club....
